The Den is an ultramodern exquisite conferencing and banqueting facility at Dusit D2, on 14 Riverside Drive in Westlands, Nairobi. It is designed to host a variety of corporate events and meetings, as well as family celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries. The Den adds to Dusit D2’s conferencing facilities which also include DStudios that host up to 80 people and ‘The Pod’ which comes with private workstations.
The Den’s grand conference room works well for meetings, product launches, workshops and even dinner parties/ dances. It can be set up in different styles according to the needs of the client and can host up to 150 people.
The conference room is adjoined to an external terrace view that opens out to a small garden, where evening cocktails and casual parties can be held.
The garden area is a great space to catch up and have snacks in between meetings during the day, and can be easily transformed to suit client specific cocktail setups and themed night parties. There is a unique bar on one end which serves a variety of drinks and guests can access other facilities and food offered by DusitD2’s restaurants depending on the package chosen.
Dusit D2 recently hosted a launch party to showcase the new conferencing facilities and have guests sample some of the food items. My favourite stand was, of course, the dessert stand.
It was like a dream dessert stand; with no effort spared to get it close to perfection. I got even more excited to learn that I could sample that and more at the D’Chocolate Festival at Dusit a few days to Valentines (11th-14th February 2017 ; look out for my next post).
I spent some tjme by the waffles and ice cream stands as well. I had waffles with chocolate sauce at the start, but that was until we discovered how much better they tasted, sandwiched with Nutella sauce and whipped cream! That combo was amazing!
There was plenty of other bitings and snacks and an unending flow of drinks. Delia’s ice cream stand had some very uniquely named ice cream flavours (goat milk, pop corn) and you should try them when you get the chance
The party kicked off in the conference room which had been set up like a ball room, with a dancefloor near the DJ’s stand and with lounge chairs and high table on the edges. The DJ’s set was amazing, the sound was great and the set up was so cool. The guys at Dusit sure know how to throw a party so yes, you can trust them yours.
Dusit D2 also offers executive accommodation in the elegantly designed guestrooms and suites. Soko and Soi are the main restaurants, and the Zing lounge and bar is the go to place for drinks and high teas. The Rouge Deck is another beautiful space; it features a sophisticated design with lounges and deck built into the red pool. Close by is the renowned Devarana Spa whose relaxation treatments are inspired by Thai wellness treatments.
There’s a fitness centre called Dfit for those who’d like to work out. Should you need your shoes shined, ask about Buffed for a complimentary shine on your next visit.
